Dear Parents,
Auditions for the Dakota
Players production of
Imagine Nation will be
held on
Martin Luther King Day,
Monday, January 16th
at 4pm,
at
The Dahl Arts Event Center.
Up to 50 local youth,
Kindergarten through 8th
grade are assured roles in
Imagine Nation, where
a boring family reunion is
looming over Brother, Sister
and Little Brother until
imaginations run wild with
the help of new found
cousins,
purple-yellow-polka-dotted
monsters from Loopiter, and
the Prairie Pirate…Hercules
of the
Imagine Nation who
challenges his young charges
to stretch their
imaginations and warm up
their wits.
There are suitable parts
designed for every age,
skill, and experience
level. In addition to the
on-stage roles, there are
also children needed that
will assist the directors
and learn how to operate
sound and lighting
equipment. Two professional
actors with Dakota Players
will guide
Rapid City’s
young talent through an
exciting week of putting a
full-scale musical
production together.
Children wishing to audition
should arrive by the
scheduled starting time and
plan to stay for the
entire two-hour audition
session. NO ADVANCE
PREPARATION IS NECESSARY.
Although there are many
roles, not everyone who
auditions is guaranteed a
part in the play.
Registration is
Pay-As-You-Will from $25 to
$0, what you can afford,
what you think its worth.
The first rehearsal begins
approximately 30 minutes
after the auditions.
Rehearsals will take place
every day from
4pm
to 8:30pm at The
Dahl Arts Center.
Although not all cast
members will be needed at
every session, those
auditioning must have a
clear schedule for the
entire week and if selected,
be able to attend all
rehearsals for their role.
A detailed rehearsal
schedule is distributed at
the conclusion of the
auditions. Cast members
scheduled to attend both
sessions in one day will be
asked to bring a sack dinner
or snack.
The performance(s) will be
held on
Friday, January 20 at 7pm
and Saturday, January 21st
at 2pm
at
The Dahl Arts Event Center.
Cast members will be called
to the performance location
1 hour before performance(s).
All those cast MUST
be available for all
scheduled performances.
The tour team arrives with
all necessary sets,
costumes, lights and sound
system.
